Who is Hans

I started my journey from online game currency trading way back... back when Paypal was still a new thing. My hobby became thousands of real-money transactions with partners from all over the world. I helped customers buy digital goods safely and effortlessly. Think of it as a precursor to NFT's. 😁

Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore. These go for like $10k+.

Throughout the years, many of my friends and trading partners were burnt by Paypal. A lack of seller protections and false payment reversals meant that any trade had huge risk for sellers. Once I found out about cryptocurrencies, I fell in love - I'd finally discovered the ultimate online payment method.

Arriving in crypto

Over the next few years, I was using Bitcoin as my primary payment method, and performed thousands of trades with partners from Santiago to Tokyo. In the midst of the 2017 cryptocurrency bull run joined the digital asset (cryptocurrency) exchange site Kraken. I really admire the company, its values and reputability and I consider my time with them as one of the highlights for my career. I specialized in matters related to deposits, withdrawals, and margin trades. I was also able to accomplish a high rate of positive client feedback even in midst of a critical peak time for the company.

Still my recommended crypto exchange for anyone in Europe!

I'm also proud of my versatility within projects - I'm always ready to adapt my skillset to help a project succeed. My digital service skills also include UX design, basic web application development, and QA testing. My business skills include a strong understanding of finance and business IT solutions such as CRM and ERP. I also have a strong passion about entrepreneurship.

Community efforts

I'm always interested in growing and expanding the blockchain community. I've been attending various crypto meetups since 2014, both in person as well as partaking in different digital events.

In 2016 I became a co-organizer of the Helsinki Bitcoin Embassy. We ran a "storefront" in the midst of Helsinki city centre, where people could visit at any time and ask their questions about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. We introduced hundreds of new users to the ecosystem, and helped spread awareness of the potential that Bitcoin holds.

In Tallinn, I've been organizing the Blockchain Tallinn meetups since early 2018. Over the years we've had the chance to feature many exciting projects such as Polkadot, Fluence, Paxful, and many more. We're the main cryptocurrency meetup in Estonia and I'm excited to help grow this country into a major crypto hub. 😁

Our largest meetup was featuring Polkadot, back in July 2018.
